Family, the 4th, and Border Crossings: Road to Revel Week 4

Hi, friend. I hope that your week is off to a great start! This training recap post is coming a day late, because, well – as much as I’d like to just sit around, drink coffee, and write about running all day…the real world calls from time to time. ๐Ÿ™‚

Week 4 was a solid week of training. I felt really strong, healthy, and consistent in my paces! I’m getting antsy to build up my mileage and run longer on the weekends, but am trying to stay patient and train smart. This week was also particularly fun because Adam (Chad’s brother) and Keir were visiting us for the 4th of July long weekend.

It was so fun to have them in town and to show them a bit of our world, as we got to see their Vegas digs a few months ago.

We were also busy this week with a trip to Mexico! We went to an orphanage with a group of friends/co-workers and had the best time getting to serve others and witness the great work that full-time volunteers are doing down in Baja — they are so incredibly dedicated to being the hands and feet of Jesus to these children.

Their hearts were awe-inspiring and it definitely moved us to want to do more with our time. They are so selfless and generous.

My favorite part, though, was watching the kids fight over Chad and his swing-pushing skills. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m excited to share that the orphanage that we visited will be the beneficiary of the next round of SGMG products, launching soon! I can’t wait to tell you more about the orphanage and kiddos. Stay tuned!
